My name is Shannon and I am a Spanish/French teacher at Naugatuck High School. I grew up in Massachusetts and earned my Bachelor’s in World Languages, studying abroad in France and Spain during my junior year. I hold two Master’s degrees in International Service and Elementary Education. For my first Master’s degree, I spent a year in Mexico and England. My work with street children in Mexico and my Master’s thesis awoke in me the realization that the most important way to empower others to break the cycle of poverty was through education. I moved to NYC and became a Bilingual 4th grade teacher in a high-needs school. I’ve taught middle and high school here in Connecticut for the past 11 years and am raising my four children in Cheshire. I’ve had the incredible opportunity to live and study in multiple countries (Spain, Mexico, France, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama) and I am super excited to be able to share my passion for language and culture with the children in our community.
